Cantora Arctica was founded in February of 2001 by conductor Janet Stotts. The group of mostly Mat-Su Valley women are of all ages and backgrounds -- joining energies once a week to sing! The group performs two full-length concerts each year -- at Christmas and Spring -- and is frequently heard at various civic and community functions.

Cantora Arctica has performed concert tours throughout the State of Alaska, as well as in Europe. In the Summer of 2004, the group performed in Germany, Austria, France, Luxembourg, and England. Cantora Arctica plans to travel to Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic in November of 2009 on an Advent Tour.

The group is directed by Janet Stotts, who also conducts the Alaska Children's Choir. She teaches private voice and piano to all ages, as well as Exploring Music classes for preschool children, at her Wasilla studio.

Why do we have geese in our logo and refer to ourselves as a flock? Read the Lessons from Geese story here.
